"SensorView started with 5G, but its core material technology allows for easy horizontal expansion across industries. Based on this, we plan to expand into the semiconductor, defense, and aerospace sectors."

Kim Byung-nam, CEO of SensorView, which is preparing for a KOSDAQ listing, shared the company's vision after the listing in an interview with Asia Economy. Founded in 2015, SensorView is a millimeter-wave (mmWave) materials and components company that supplies 5G-related product inspection and components used inside 5G devices and infrastructure to 5G mobile communication materials and equipment companies.

Millimeter waves are radio waves with frequencies between 30 and 300 GHz and wavelengths of 1 to 10 mm, a term used to distinguish extremely high frequencies by wavelength. Millimeter waves enable broadband transmission and are used in various fields such as satellite communication, mobile communication, and earth exploration.

SensorView possesses core technology capable of producing materials with low power loss and high shielding effectiveness. Low-loss, high-shielding materials are created by precisely matching pressure, velocity, and temperature to ensure uniform distribution of raw materials. It is especially challenging to manufacture low-loss, high-shielding materials at higher frequencies. SensorView has developed technology feasible at high frequencies, securing a unique position domestically. Last year, it received an A grade in a technology evaluation conducted by NICE Information Service.

CEO Kim said, "There are no domestic competitors in the 5G field, and we have secured unrivaled competitiveness in antennas for high-frequency bands. Globally, competitors include companies from the U.S. and Switzerland with histories of 80 to 100 years, but our products launching next year will be far superior to theirs."

Leveraging its technological prowess, SensorView was designated as the sole supplier (sole vendor) for Qualcomm's small cell equipment sector in the U.S. in 2020. Currently, SensorView supplies ultra-compact transmission lines for 5G to Qualcomm. To date, 250,000 products have been shipped to Qualcomm's licensed manufacturers, and if Qualcomm expands its product supply scope, SensorView is expected to benefit alongside. CEO Kim stated, "India is expanding its 5G network investment and has partnered with the U.S. to counter China. Qualcomm products are expected to be supplied throughout India, which will likely increase orders for SensorView's products."

SensorView plans to expand its business areas beyond 5G into semiconductor, defense, and aerospace sectors. In the semiconductor field, SensorView can manufacture thin cables used in test equipment. The company is currently registering as a partner with global semiconductor firms, and once completed around August, product testing will follow, with mass production expected to begin in the second quarter of next year.

In the defense sector, SensorView plans to supply antenna cable connectors. The defense industry requires antenna cable connectors usable at high frequencies, but no domestic companies currently supply these. Overseas companies supply them at high prices, but replacing them with SensorView products can achieve both localization of the defense industry and company sales growth.

Through such proactive business expansion, SensorView expects to achieve sales of 76.7 billion KRW by 2025. CEO Kim emphasized, "We have already secured contracts worth about 14 billion KRW that could generate performance in semiconductors and defense starting next year, so the sales target is conservatively set from an investor perspective. The domestic market accounts for only 3% of the global market, so SensorView's target market is global, and exports will exceed 50% by 2025."

To support increasing sales performance, SensorView plans to use part of the funds raised from this listing to expand production capacity (CAPA). Some funds will also be allocated to R&D for new technologies requested by customers. CEO Kim said, "SensorView is not just a simple communication components company but a core materials technology company preparing for the 4th Industrial Revolution in telecommunications, semiconductors, defense, and satellites. We will grow into a company recognized more overseas than domestically."

Meanwhile, SensorView's total number of public offering shares is 3.9 million, with a desired price range of 2,900 to 3,600 KRW per share, and a total public offering amount of 11.3 to 14 billion KRW. The public offering price will be finalized through institutional demand forecasting on the 3rd and 4th of next month, followed by general subscription on the 10th and 11th of the same month. Samsung Securities is the lead underwriter.
