Kia, Brand with Most No.1 Rankings in Multiple Categories
In a new car quality survey conducted by a U.S. market research firm, four Kia models and the Genesis G80, among five Hyundai Motor Group vehicles, were selected as number one in their respective categories.
On the 23rd (local time), JD Power, a U.S. market research firm, conducted a quality survey on 2023 model year new cars released in the U.S. As a result, the Genesis G80 (premium mid-large car) and Kia's Rio (compact car), Forte (small car), Stinger (premium mid-size car), and Carnival (minivan) were selected as the top vehicles in their respective segments.
By automaker, General Motors (GM) led with seven category wins, followed by Hyundai Motor Group in second place. Toyota came in third with four category wins.
Kia, along with GM Chevrolet, recorded first place in four categories, making it the brand recognized in the most segments. In particular, Kia stated that the Forte was selected as number one in the small car segment for the fifth consecutive time, setting an industry-first record.
JD Power's new car quality survey, now in its 37th year, was based on initial survey results from 93,380 buyers and lessees of 200 models across 33 brands of the 2023 model year.
