EDGC (Eone Diagnomics Genome Center), a precision medicine company specializing in genome analysis, announced on the 23rd that it has filed a patent for the technology 'DNA visualization method, visualized DNA manufactured therefrom, and articles containing the same.'
The technology is characterized by visualizing DNA, which was difficult to observe with the naked eye, and enabling long-term storage even in everyday environments.
EDGC introduced this as a method to safely store DNA semi-permanently at room temperature without restrictions on storage location or environment. DNA can be visualized by methods such as coloring the DNA or coating DNA molecules onto objects like beads. The concentration and purity of DNA can be maintained during the visualization process.
An EDGC representative stated, "It will become easier to develop products containing DNA and for individuals to possess their DNA," adding, "It can be used for personal identification, memorial products, and keepsakes, and can also be applied in various industries including the fashion sector."
EDGC’s GENEVER service digitally implants the genes of the deceased, allowing memorialization anytime and anywhere in cyberspace instead of at cemeteries or columbaria. GENEVER means 'GENE FOREVER,' preserving the original genes of the deceased and passing them down through generations. With the consent of the deceased or their family, the deceased’s DNA is stored, and based on this DNA information, genetic disease predictions for descendants can be made. DNA visualization products reflecting the patented technology are also provided.
