Finds Atmosphere and Facilities Too... Naver Strengthens Accommodation Search

Local reviews accumulated on Naver and 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) Snippets' have combined to evolve accommodation searches.

On the 23rd, Naver announced that it has revamped accommodation searches based on 600 million local reviews to allow users to easily and quickly explore desired accommodations. This update is initially applied to types such as ▲pensions ▲campgrounds ▲guesthouses, and will be expanded to cover the overall accommodation industry in the future.

Various review contents left by users on places, including keywords, text, and images, have been reflected in the search results. The characteristics of accommodations based on actual visit experiences are also considered to provide search results. For example, it presents accommodations that meet users' needs for specific queries such as 'Jeju Island ocean view family pension' or 'Gapyeong atmospheric campground.'

Naver applied its proprietary search technology, AI Snippets, to the business introduction section of each accommodation. Using AI Snippet technology, it extracts reviews that match the user's search intent from the numerous local reviews accumulated on Naver and presents them along with business information. When searching including desired accommodation types and atmospheres, text reviews and images related to the search terms are displayed first. Additionally, based on blog reviews, it summarizes the key features of each accommodation in one line to help users quickly grasp the core keywords of each place.

The 'Place Filter' function has been enhanced to improve search convenience. It is designed to capture the representative features of accommodations by comprehensively analyzing not only review content but also accommodation trends. Users can select filters from detailed categories such as ▲features ▲atmosphere ▲facilities & services to gather accommodations that meet conditions like 'pet-friendly pool villa with breakfast provided' or 'luxury-sensibility glamping site with a swimming pool.'
