Dobong-gu Introduces Video Library to 20 Public Childcare Centers
Establishment of Individual Book Servers in Childcare Centers Enables Video Book Viewing Without Time and Space Constraints
Accessible from Home to Enhance Learning Accessibility
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced that it will introduce a video library to 20 public childcare centers and expand educational program content and improve early childhood programs at these centers.
The "Public Childcare Center Video Library Construction Project" was initiated to diversify educational programs at childcare centers and meet the increasing need for new learning methods such as non-face-to-face learning due to COVID-19.
The district plans to build individual book servers for each childcare center, allowing video books to be viewed without time and space restrictions through internet access. Additionally, to increase learning accessibility through video books, usage will be enabled at home as well.
An official from the district stated, "Through a variety of rich content genres, we expect to foster children's imagination and contribute to improving the quality of childcare services at public childcare centers."
At the end of this year, when the project concludes, the district plans to conduct a satisfaction survey and effectiveness evaluation on the use of the video library to decide whether to expand the project next year.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "We hope that the introduction of the video library will improve the quality of childcare services at Dobong-gu's public childcare centers, and furthermore, that it will be a great opportunity for our children to experience the changing reading culture of modern society first."
