Happy Together for Both Pet Owners and Their Pets!

Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) will take the lead in establishing a proper companion animal culture by starting the operation of ‘Wise Companion Culture Life’ from the 24th.

‘Wise Companion Culture Life’ provides education such as etiquette lectures for pet owners and dog walking classes to help people accurately understand companion animals and form proper bonds.

First, from June 24 to July 15, every Saturday, a dog walking class with experts will be held. Participants can join with their pets to learn about the etiquette pet owners should observe during walks, proper walking methods, and the importance of walking.

On July 5 at 2 p.m., a special lecture titled ‘Creating a Highly Empathetic Proper Petiquette Culture’ will be held at the basement auditorium of the district office by veterinarian Seol Chaehyun, known as the ‘Sureiner’ (veterinarian + dog trainer).

The lecture will cover topics such as the current status of companion animals and petiquette to establish a companion culture that both pet owners and non-pet owners can empathize with.

Anyone interested in companion animals can participate in the education and lecture.

The walking classes require participation with pets and can be applied for through the Jungnang-gu online pet cafe. Applications for Seol Chaehyun’s lecture will be accepted from the 27th on the Culture and Tourism bulletin board on the Jungnang-gu Office website. However, pets are not allowed to accompany attendees to the lecture.

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “Companion animals are now like friends or family,” and added, “We will strive to establish a proper companion culture to create a happy city for both pets and their owners.”
