The Korea Musical Association is accepting applications for the "1st Korea International Musical Competition" until the 12th of next month.
This summer, through the 1st Korea International Musical Competition, the Korea Musical Association plans to provide new opportunities for aspiring musical actors and discover the next generation of stars.
Applicants wishing to participate can fill out and submit the application form on the Korea Musical Association website by the 12th of next month. The application must include a video for the preliminary screening and MR tracks for the preliminary and final rounds.
The competition consists of preliminary, semifinal, and final rounds. The preliminary screening will be conducted based on the video submitted with the application. The semifinal competition for the elementary and middle school divisions will be held from July 18 to 19 at CKL Stage, while the high school and university/general divisions will take place from July 31 to August 1 at the Jangcheon Hall of the Kwanglim Art Center. The final round will be held on August 14 at the D-Cube Link Art Center Grand Theater as a public presentation stage.
Anyone belonging to the elementary, middle, high school, or university/general divisions can apply. Foreigners, graduates, and homeschoolers who do not attend school can apply to the appropriate division based on their date of birth. Only individuals can apply; group competitions will not be held.
Special benefits will be given to finalists and award winners. All finalists will receive individual feedback from the judges. Award winners will have the opportunity to participate in the planned program of the "2023 Korea Musical Festival - 8th Korea Musical Awards," scheduled for January next year.
Additionally, about ten member companies of the Korea Musical Association, including S&CO, OD Company, ACOM, and Show Note, will grant exemption from document screening for their 2023-2024 auditions. The full list of participating companies will be announced later. Other benefits include workshops with musical experts.
