Woo Sang-ho "Jo Guk new party? Nonsense... Park Ji-won is losing touch"

Former National Intelligence Service Director Park Ji-won predicted that former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk would establish a new party in Gwangju, causing a stir in the political world, but Woo Sang-ho, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, dismissed it as "nonsense."

On the 20th, Woo said on CBS's 'Park Jae-hong's One-on-One Battle,' "When rumors about his candidacy were rampant, Cho and I exchanged text messages, and he said, 'He is currently undergoing a second trial and wants to focus on that. He hopes that political matters, such as whether he will run or not, are not made a subject of discussion.'"

On the 16th, former Director Park predicted on KBS's 'Joo Jin-woo Live' that Cho Kuk would run in next year's general election and would establish a new party without receiving the Democratic Party's nomination. However, Woo dismissed this as "nonsense."

He added, "In the past, gossipers would do some research before spreading rumors, but these days they just sit and do whatever they want," and directed his remarks at former Director Park, saying, "He has lost his touch lately. He used to provide very accurate information, but now, since his own position is involved, he seems to be writing scenarios that are more like rumors."

When asked by the host if he had presidential ambitions, Woo replied, "I cannot become president," explaining, "My hometown is Gangwon Province. The population there is small. If I were from Chungcheong, Jeolla, or Gyeongsang Province, I would have challenged the primary in the last presidential election."

The host then asked again if he would run for Seoul mayor, and Woo responded, "A metropolitan government head," adding, "It sounds arrogant if I specifically say Seoul mayor."
