A man in his 20s accused of forcibly putting his partner into a car and confining them was arrested by the police.
On the 21st, the Gangseo Police Station in Seoul announced that they arrested a man in his 20s, identified as Mr. A, on the 19th on charges including confinement, and he is currently under investigation.
Mr. A is suspected of forcibly putting the victim into a car and repeatedly hitting them around 3 p.m. on the 19th in a building parking lot in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. It was also reported that Mr. A took the victim’s cellphone before putting them into the car.
A bystander who witnessed the situation tracked Mr. A’s vehicle and reported it to the police. Based on this, the police apprehended Mr. A within 15 minutes about 1.6 km away from the crime scene.
Mr. A was detained in a holding cell for investigation and was released the previous morning.
It is known that the victim does not wish for Mr. A to be punished.
The police stated, "The investigation will continue, and we will decide whether to forward the case for prosecution."
