Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 20th that it will extend the 50% rental fee reduction period for 1,101 units of 98 types of agricultural machinery owned by the Agricultural Machinery Rental Center until the end of the year.
Originally, the rental fee reduction period for agricultural machinery was scheduled to last until the 30th, but this decision reflects the ongoing inflation caused by COVID-19 and the management burdens faced by farming households.
The county is making efforts to create an optimal environment by purchasing 119 units of 21 new types of agricultural machinery this year so that farmers can use the machinery in a timely manner.
Every year, through the small special agricultural machinery certification training project, the county supports local farmers to safely operate special agricultural machinery such as excavators and loaders, leading peaceful farming lives in the region.
An official from the Agricultural Technology Center said, "Farmers have faced significant difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation," adding, "We hope that the confirmed extension of the 50% rental fee reduction this year will help alleviate the management burdens of farming households."
