KEPCO KDN and International Electric Vehicle Expo Sign MOU to Expand Technologies Including EV Charging

KEPCO KDN signed a business agreement on the 15th at the International Electric Vehicle Expo and the Semi-Yang Building within the Jeju Advanced Science and Technology Complex to promote the development of the eco-friendly electric vehicle industry and the future growth of the e-mobility industry.


Through this agreement, both organizations agreed to collaborate on technology development in future energy fields such as electric vehicle charging, energy storage systems (ESS), and smart grid expansion, as well as support the growth of innovative industries like e-mobility, establish domestic and international networks, and expand mutual cooperation to create synergy effects.


KEPCO KDN plans to leverage its accumulated experience and technology as the only energy ICT public enterprise in Korea by widely promoting them domestically and internationally through exhibitions and conferences hosted by the International Electric Vehicle Expo. It will also jointly hold programs to expand networks related to future industries such as electric vehicles, leading co-prosperity in new business sectors and spreading its image as a global public enterprise driving the development of future innovative industries in e-mobility and energy fields.


Since its first expo in 2014, the International Electric Vehicle Expo has served as a global business platform for e-mobility and eco-friendly energy industries, including electric vehicles, electric ships, and urban air mobility (UAM). The 11th International e-Mobility Expo is scheduled to be held from April 30 to May 3 next year at the Jeju International Convention Center.


Kim Jang-hyun, President of KEPCO KDN, stated, "Through this agreement, we are confident that by combining the professional capabilities and networks of both organizations and integrating electric vehicles with ICT, we will contribute to strengthening the global competitiveness of Korea's electric vehicle industry." He added, "We will actively respond to the rapid environmental changes brought by energy transition and digitalization, and collaborate with specialized companies in electric vehicles and related industries to actively engage in technology development in the future energy sector."
