Lee Hak-jae, President of Incheon International Airport Corporation, and Yoo Byung-tae, President of HUG, Inaugurated Today

Former National Assembly member Lee Hak-jae was inaugurated as the president of Incheon International Airport Corporation on the 19th. Yoo Byung-tae, director of Koramco Asset Trust, was appointed as the new president of the Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG).

The position of president at Incheon International Airport Corporation became vacant at the end of April when former president Kim Kyung-wook resigned with about 10 months left in his term. Lee Hak-jae’s term as the new president is three years.


On the morning of the same day, Won Hee-ryong, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, presented appointment letters to Lee Hak-jae, the new president of Incheon International Airport Corporation, and Yoo Byung-tae, the new president of Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation.

Minister Won told Lee Hak-jae, "At this moment when international air passenger demand, which had been stagnant due to COVID-19, is clearly recovering, your role as the new president is significant," and added, "Given the recent series of accidents and the public’s concerns about security and safety, please focus on strengthening the aviation security and safety system."


He also emphasized, "Efficient organizational management is necessary for early normalization of operations," and urged, "Please also carefully handle urgent issues such as toll reductions for Yeongjong and Incheon bridges."


Furthermore, he said, "In line with Incheon Airport’s international status, please provide innovative services and lead the aviation industry by implementing next-generation mobility such as UAM."


Minister Won also asked Yoo Byung-tae, the new president of Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG), to "demonstrate leadership to effectively fulfill the role as the representative institution of housing and urban finance responsible for enhancing the public’s housing welfare," emphasizing, "there must be no disruption in protecting tenants’ jeonse deposits and supporting victims through services such as the Safe Jeonse app and the Jeonse Damage Support Center."


He continued, "Please continue to manage and monitor the real estate project financing market and the housing sales market," and added, "Efforts should be made to ensure that guarantee services are continuously provided, with thorough risk management and debt recovery."
