Geumcheon-gu Parkmi Health Center Operates 'Healthy Baby Food Class'

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will operate the ‘Healthy Weaning Food Class’ for two days from July 4 to 5 at the Bakmi Health Center.

The ‘Healthy Weaning Food Class’ is aimed at Geumcheon-gu residents who are parents of infants and toddlers, pregnant women, and those interested in weaning food. Participants will learn about the dietary habits of infants and toddlers by age and have the opportunity to make weaning food and baby snacks themselves. Individual consultations on infant dietary issues will also be provided.

The Healthy Weaning Food Class, held over two sessions, will take place at the nutrition education room of Bakmi Health Center (located in Siheung 3-dong) with a specialist instructor in infant nutrition and health center nutritionists.

The first session on July 4 will cover theoretical education on early and mid-stage weaning food and making baby snacks, while the second session on July 5 will cover theoretical education on late and completed weaning food and making baby snacks.

Both sessions will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and infants cannot be accompanied during the classes.

The number of participants is 12 per session, totaling 24, and recruitment is on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents wishing to participate can apply by scanning the QR code on the promotional materials from June 19 to 30 or apply online through the Bakmi Health Center Naver Band.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “We hope this program will be helpful to families with infants and toddlers,” and added, “We will continue to operate customized programs so that residents can practice healthy eating habits.”
