Gyeonggi Fire Department, Nationwide First to Integrate 'Hazardous Materials Statistics and Work Manual' Production

'Hazardous Materials Safety Management Statistics and Work Manual' produced by the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters

The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters has produced the 'Hazardous Materials Safety Management Statistics and Work Manual.'

The Fire and Disaster Headquarters reported on the 19th that the previous statistical data book contained extensive details about hazardous material facilities, making the content too vast and thus less frequently utilized. Therefore, they recently created a new data book that organizes only the essential basic statistics and shares detailed statistical content as separate files.

A new hazardous materials work manual was also added. The manual is mainly composed of civil service tasks and hazardous material facility inspections. In addition to practical procedures for handling civil service tasks and inspections, the manual also includes cases of hazardous material accidents and the most frequently violated laws.

The Fire and Disaster Headquarters will produce 480 copies of the 'Hazardous Materials Safety Management Statistics and Work Manual' and distribute them to frontline fire stations.

Cho Sun-ho, head of the Fire and Disaster Headquarters, stated, "Gyeonggi Fire is the first in the nation to integrate hazardous materials statistics and work manuals into one publication." He added, "We expect this manual to be a great help in preventing hazardous material accidents and in the job performance of hazardous material workers who require expertise, and we plan to expand this approach to other fields."

Meanwhile, there are 23,488 locations in the province that store and handle hazardous materials, accounting for more than 20% nationwide. However, despite the significant role of hazardous materials work, there has been no proper hazardous materials work manual until now.
