Provincial Road No. 306, connecting Gosam and Samjuk in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, will be expanded to a two-lane road.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Construction Headquarters announced on the 19th that it will begin road expansion work on the 3.02 km section from Bongsan-ri, Gosam-myeon to Nampung-ri, Bogae-myeon on Provincial Road No. 306 in Anseong City on the 20th, with an investment of 49 billion KRW.
The section currently has a single lane, with a narrow road width and sharp curves, making it impossible for vehicles to pass each other, causing significant inconvenience to residents.
The Construction Headquarters started the design service in early 2020 and, after consultations with local residents and related agencies, decided to expand the road to two lanes in both directions and improve five intersections.
Subsequently, preliminary procedures such as compensation for the construction were carried out last year.
The expansion project for the Gosam-Samjuk road is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2027.
Since there is no detour road, local residents will have to use the existing road during the construction period, so the Construction Headquarters plans to install safety facilities at the construction site to ensure that vehicle traffic is not disrupted.
Kim Gyoheung, head of the Provincial Construction Headquarters, stated, "As this is a long-awaited project by residents, we will do our best to ensure that the Gosam-Samjuk road expansion proceeds as planned for the safety and convenience of the residents."
