Jeonbuk Gochang-gun 'Sports Town Park Golf Course' Opens

Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk recently held an opening ceremony for the 'Sports Town Park Golf Course' with about 300 attendees, including the county governor, chairman of the county council, heads of social organizations, and members of the Park Golf Association, the county announced on the 18th.

Gochang-gun invested a total project cost of 16 billion KRW to create a park golf course, soccer field, parking lot, and more within the Sports Town in Wolam-ri, Gochang-eup.

In particular, the Sports Town Park Golf Course is located in Gochang-eup, making it easily accessible for users, and it consists of 18 holes, allowing players to enjoy various courses.

The park golf course began trial operations in April and officially started full operations with the opening ceremony on the 17th of this month.

The county expects that the opening of this park golf course will resolve a long-standing wish of local residents, contribute to the revitalization of community sports with the opening of various sports facilities, and help attract various events and competitions.

Shim Deok-seop, the governor of Gochang-gun, said, “Starting with the opening ceremony of the Sports Town Park Golf Course here, the development of park golf courses in the southwestern region has gained momentum,” adding, “We expect that this opening will further strengthen the sports facility infrastructure in Gochang-gun.”

Additionally, more than 200 participants showcased their skills at the ‘Gochang Park Golf Association President’s Cup Park Golf Tournament’ held to commemorate the opening of the park golf course.
