The '2023 Uljin-gun Proposal Contest Selected Startup Support Project' is being implemented for the first time this year to support prospective entrepreneurs in starting their businesses. It aims to create value by combining innovative ideas with Uljin's local resources or culture and to solve difficulties within the region.
The support targets prospective entrepreneurs preparing for region-based startups or early-stage entrepreneurs with less than three years since establishment as of the announcement date, aged between 19 and 49, residing in Uljin-gun. Funding of up to 43 million KRW per entrepreneur will be provided for the commercialization of business models in seven fields: regional value, local food, region-based manufacturing, region-specialized tourism, hub branding, digital cultural experiences, and eco-friendly activities.
The county plans to select two final recipients by July 21, 2023, through business plan submissions and presentation evaluations. It will support stable startups through mentoring involving experts from inside and outside the region, consulting tailored to growth stages and business models, and phased funding.
County Governor Son Byeong-bok said, "We hope this practical startup support for young people who have ideas but lack a startup foundation will help solve local employment issues and revitalize the regional economy."
