The Seocho District Council (Chairman Oh Se-cheol) enhanced the thoroughness of the supplementary budget review through active on-site visits.

During the 327th 1st regular session, the council visited key sites related to agenda items during the standing committee and budget and accounts committee supplementary budget reviews to carefully assess the feasibility of projects.

First, the Finance and Construction Committee (Chairman Kim Seong-ju) visited the Jamwon Rainwater Pump Station on the 8th, received explanations about the pump station maintenance project, and entered the underground sewage culvert through Drainage Gate 2 to inspect the interior of the structure directly. According to the Water Management Division of Seocho District Office, the drainage facilities at Jamwon Rainwater Pump Station urgently require repair measures to ensure safety due to cracks, exposed rebar, and cross-sectional defects found during a detailed safety inspection.

Chairman Kim Seong-ju said, “Seeing the site in person allowed us to accurately understand the condition of the facilities and the demands of the field,” adding, “We will do our best to secure appropriate budget allocation to establish safe facilities.”

Then, on the 13th, the Budget and Accounts Special Committee (Chairman Lee Hyung-jun) visited the Umyeonsan Forest Experience Center area. Located at San 36-6, Seocho-dong, the experience center has been operating since 2015, equipped with ecological observation learning spaces and playground facilities. The supplementary budget includes provisions related to operating the ‘Umyeonsan Forest Imagination School’ project, which integrates digital technology into the existing experience center facilities. The project aims to transform the space into one that keeps pace with the digital era by allowing indirect experiences of insects, fruits, and animals?difficult to encounter directly in natural settings?through new technologies such as AR and VR. On this day, committee members listened to explanations about future operation plans and participated directly in the forest experience digital program to assess the project's effectiveness.

Chairman Lee Hyung-jun said, “Seeing the site firsthand enhanced our understanding of the project and helped us judge the appropriateness of its implementation,” adding, “During the remaining period, we will carefully review whether the budget is allocated to places truly needed by residents and ensure the supplementary budget is one that everyone can agree on.”

The total scale of the supplementary budget submitted by Seocho District Office this time is approximately 91.9 billion KRW, an increase of 26.6 billion KRW from last year’s supplementary budget of 65.3 billion KRW. Based on the review results of the relevant standing committees from the 5th to the 14th, the council plans to finalize the supplementary budget at the 4th plenary session on the 27th after the Budget and Accounts Committee’s review.
