Contributing to Local Art Communities and Economic Development through Steam Iron Provision and More
‘The luxury brand of steam irons,’ Laurastar, has been actively supporting design and fashion students through a partnership with HEAD-Geneve, the Geneva University of Art and Design, since 2022.
HEAD-Geneve was established in 2006 through the merger of two prestigious schools, Ecole Superieure des Beaux-Arts and Haute Ecole d'Arts Appliques, and is considered one of the top three design schools in Switzerland. Utilizing its rich cultural and artistic heritage, it nurtures creative young talents and holds a strong reputation in the domestic and international design and fashion fields.
Founded in 1980 and specializing in irons for over 40 years, Laurastar supports HEAD-Geneve’s design and fashion students by providing Laurastar steam irons for use not only in classrooms and studios but also on the stage of the university’s annual fashion shows in Geneva.
Laurastar steam irons boast powerful steam technology that satisfies both household and professional users, contributing to the care and management of HEAD-Geneve students’ works through easy ironing and steam care.
A representative from Gatevision, the importer of Laurastar, stated, “Laurastar, which holds the number one market share in Europe and exports to 56 countries worldwide, has globally promoted Swiss craftsmanship. To continue the brand’s beliefs and values, Laurastar actively engages in community-related activities. This proactive investment and support have been the foundation for Laurastar’s growth into a global leader in the iron industry through brand innovation, design, and top quality.”
Meanwhile, Gatevision is a distribution company operating premium home appliances such as Dyson, the German sound brand Sennheiser, and the Italian pure cotton electric blanket brand Imetec, and introduced Laurastar to domestic consumers seven years ago.
Additionally, Woods, a Swedish premium dehumidifier brand operated by Gatevision, is in its third year since launch and has shown a growth rate of 266%, gaining recognition for product excellence in the dehumidifier market.
Currently, Laurastar is available at all Shinsegae Department Store locations, as well as major branches of Hyundai Department Store and Lotte Department Store. It has also been loved by consumers as the top iron brand, achieving sold-out records seven times over four consecutive years on Hyundai Home Shopping’s ‘Wang Young-eun’s Talk Together’ program.
