Busan City Opens 'Yeonje-gu Urban Youth Startup and Residential Complex' at Busan Gyeongsang University Yeonje-gu Urban Youth Startup and Residential Complex Space.

With this opening, three startup support facilities have opened within a week: the Urban Youth Startup and Residential Complex Space in Sasang-gu, Busan (Dongseo University) on June 8, the Busan Knowledge Industry Center Uam branch on June 12, and now this new facility, accelerating support for startups.

The opening ceremony today will be attended by Lee Seong-gwon, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs; Joo Seok-su, Mayor of Yeonje-gu; Han Seung-wan, Chairman of Busan Gyeongsang University; Lee Seung-woo, Vice Chairman of the Planning and Finance Committee of the Busan City Council; and members of the affiliated standing committees to celebrate the opening.

This Startup and Residential Complex Space aims to create a startup ecosystem where young entrepreneurs can stably grow by providing office and residential spaces together in the city center. This space was established through collaboration among several institutions, including ▲ Busan City’s facility improvement fund support ▲ Yeonje-gu’s operational cost support ▲ Busan Gyeongsang University’s provision of startup spaces, business growth support, and management.

The ‘Company Residency Space’ located on the first floor of the Busan Gyeongsang University student union building consists of six individual incubation rooms (three single rooms and three double rooms), a startup caf?, and an open office. The ‘Entrepreneur Residential Space,’ remodeled from an existing dormitory, consists of six double rooms.

The Yeonje-gu (Busan Gyeongsang University) Urban Youth Startup and Residential Complex Space specializes in digital creators, webtoon-animation, and character design fields, and plans to serve as a startup hub to attract not only local youth but also young people from Asia and other regions.

Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs Lee Seong-gwon stated, “Starting with the startup support infrastructure opened within the past week, we will accelerate the activation of the startup ecosystem to build a global startup hub city, which is a major pledge of the 8th local government administration. The Urban Youth Startup and Residential Complex Space utilizes underused urban spaces to provide young entrepreneurs with combined startup and residential spaces, supporting their stable growth.” He conveyed the significance of today’s opening.
