Busan Port Authority (BPA) and Yeongdo District Office conducted the '2023 Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill' on the 14th at the International Cruise Terminal in Dongsam-dong, Yeongdo District, BPA headquarters, and Yeongdo District Office.
This drill, co-hosted by BPA and Yeongdo District Office, simulated a scenario where a fire at a multi-use facility and a ship accident occurred due to a typhoon, focusing on checking the response system for each situation from initial response to recovery and restoration.
In particular, a total of about 250 personnel from 15 related organizations of Busan Port, including government and public institutions such as BPA, Yeongdo District Office, Busan Coast Guard, Port Fire Station, Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation, as well as private organizations like the Yeongdo District Autonomous Disaster Prevention Group and Volunteer Center, reaffirmed their roles and cooperation system, enhancing the effectiveness of the drill.
Kang Jun-seok, President of BPA, and Kim Ki-jae, Mayor of Yeongdo District, stated, "We will minimize damage in the event of an actual disaster by supplementing the problems and shortcomings identified throughout the preparation and execution of the drill," and added, "We will continue to strengthen the cooperation system among related organizations to create a safer Busan Port and a safer Yeongdo District."
