Successful Project Implementation through Living Lab Citizen Participation Group Activities
On the 14th, Miryang City in Gyeongnam held a completion report meeting for the Smart City Innovation Technology Discovery Project to create safe school routes for children, chaired by Mayor Park Il-ho, with about 30 members of the Living Lab citizen participation group attending at Hotel Arina.
The city established smart complex shelters linked to a CCTV integrated control center capable of detecting fire, rescue requests, and providing driver warning services for sudden situations around school vehicles at four locations including Lotte Invens.

Additionally, the city completed the construction of the Miryang Living Lab platform based on big data to promote administrative policies that are realistic and perceptible through complaint analysis and local issue discovery.
This project was selected in April last year through a public contest hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and was promoted by reflecting various citizen opinions such as precise distance analysis between people and vehicles and emergency situation detection for users applying AI new technologies through four workshops including on-site demonstrations by the citizen participation group.
With the successful completion of this project, the city has enabled the introduction of smart services that citizens can experience and established a foundation to incorporate citizens' opinions into all areas of administration.
Mayor Park Il-ho said, “This was a meaningful occasion to inform citizens of the city's efforts to reflect diverse citizen opinions in administration, and we will actively incorporate the valuable achievements gained through the citizen participation group activities into city governance in the future.”
