Inha University is actively participating in talent development projects in new and advanced industries to lead national innovation growth.

On the 15th, Inha University announced that it was selected for seven projects in the Ministry of Education's 2022 and 2023 inter-ministerial collaborative talent development projects. This is the second largest scale among domestic universities, following Sungkyunkwan University.

The inter-ministerial collaborative talent development project supports universities in nurturing future innovative talents by collaborating with government ministries specialized in each field, in response to the increasing demand for talent in advanced industries.

Following last year's selection in the ▲secondary battery ▲system semiconductor ▲spatial information ▲intellectual property ▲greenhouse gas reduction projects, Inha University was additionally selected this year for the Venture Startup Academy and Artificial Intelligence Semiconductor Convergence Talent Development projects.

The Venture Startup Academy selected this year is a project to cultivate talent in the software (SW) and content fields led by ventures and startups. The goal is to nurture talents who can be immediately deployed in corporate sites through project-based training courses.

With a support fund of 500 million KRW for one year, Inha University, together with the Venture Business Association, will cultivate verified SW professionals equipped with practical problem-solving skills. The curriculum operates practical courses reflecting corporate demands as well as subjects to enhance problem-solving abilities.

The Artificial Intelligence Semiconductor Convergence Talent Development project will establish AI-semiconductor convergence major courses within the university and nurture more than 50 excellent practical talents annually in the AI and semiconductor fields through industry-academic cooperation with major domestic companies. It will receive 1.05 billion KRW in project funding over two years.

Inha University was also selected on the 5th for the 'Advanced Field Innovation Convergence University' project by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea as part of the secondary battery consortium formed with Chungbuk National University, Gachon University, Pusan National University, and Gyeongnam Information University. Chungcheongbuk-do participates as a metropolitan local government in the secondary battery consortium.

The secondary battery consortium will receive an average annual project fund of approximately 10.2 billion KRW for four years from this year until 2026, promoting joint secondary battery curriculum development and operation, flexible faculty and academic systems, and corporate participation projects.

Jo Myung-woo, president of Inha University, said, "In response to the demands of the 4th Industrial Revolution era, we are actively participating not only in establishing undergraduate departments for advanced talent cultivation but also in various national talent development projects. We will devote the university's capabilities to help nurture talents who will lead the development of our country."
