According to the county on the 13th, the students observed the proceedings of the plenary session and spent time understanding the roles and functions of the council by asking and answering questions about matters they were curious about regarding local councils through conversations with council members.

In particular, by directly experiencing the process of passing agenda items such as ordinance processing and 5-minute speeches together with the chairperson, they had a meaningful experience understanding the policy-making process of the legislative body and the roles of council members.

Chairperson Kim Bomi said, “Our council, as a representative body of the residents, always strives to reflect the voices of the residents in policy promotion by enacting ordinances and monitoring the administration of the executive branch.”

She added, “I promise to work hard with my fellow council members so that the youth, the future leaders of Gangjin, can play freely in a safe environment and grow happily,” and encouraged, “I hope this experience was a valuable time to develop your capabilities as mature democratic citizens.”
