"Even if Moon has a debt of gratitude, he must meet privately"
Woo Byung-woo raises doubts about People Power Party nomination possibility
On the 13th, Ha Tae-kyung, a member of the People Power Party, commented on former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk's recent meeting with former President Moon Jae-in, stating, "One should be more selective about whom they meet," and added, "Even if there is a debt of gratitude, meetings should be held privately."
Earlier, on the 11th, former Minister Cho said on Facebook, "In a time of regression and backlash where everything about the Moon Jae-in administration is being denied and disparaged, I am contemplating what must be done," and added, "I will walk the 'pathless path' without a map or compass."
This sparked interpretations in political circles that former Minister Cho may have solidified his decision to run in next year's general election. Political interpretations also followed his meeting with former President Moon on the 10th at Pyeongsan Bookstore in Yangsan, Gyeongnam.

Regarding this, Representative Ha said in an interview with MBC Radio's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus' on the same day, "Former President Moon said he has a debt of gratitude towards former Minister Cho, and I think this time he is repaying that debt," adding, "It seems like he is pleading with former President Moon."
Representative Ha predicted that former Minister Cho might receive a nomination for the general election. Ha said, "Because it seems like former President Moon is supporting him now," and added, "From the outside, they even had a drink together and wore aprons."
He also argued that former President Moon needs to make a clear statement. Representative Ha explained, "From the Democratic Party's perspective, they would prefer that former Minister Cho does not run, but since a former president who still holds influence within the party appears to be fully backing him, it must be an awkward situation."
Regarding the possibility of former Minister Cho leading a new party, Ha noted, "That is a scenario if he does not receive a nomination." He added, "If he is not nominated, members like Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Nam-guk and others might gather."
Ha viewed the possibility of former Chief Woo Byung-woo, who is also rumored to run alongside former Minister Cho, receiving a nomination from the People Power Party as low. He said, "Our personnel composition has changed a lot. The leading faction consists of people who supported the impeachment during the past Choi Soon-sil (renamed Choi Seo-won) scandal and the former president's impeachment."
He continued, "It is up to him to run, and he may want to restore his honor, but it will not be easy to run an election if he does not receive our party's nomination."
