Dual QHD Resolution · 49-inch Size · 32:9 Ultra Wide Aspect Ratio
Expanding Dual QHD OLED Lineup Following Last November's 34-inch Model
Samsung Electronics announced on the 12th that it will be the first in the world to launch a new dual QHD (5120x1440) resolution organic light-emitting diode (OLED) gaming monitor.
On the same day (local time), Samsung Electronics announced that it will sequentially release the dual QHD new product 'Odyssey OLED G9' in major global markets starting from the United States. This expands the lineup to include dual QHD resolution monitors following the 34-inch 'Odyssey OLED G8' launched last November.
The Odyssey OLED G9 has a screen size of 49 inches. The resolution is at the dual QHD level. The aspect ratio is 32:9 ultra-wide, the curvature is 1800R, the refresh rate is 240Hz, and the response time based on GTG (Gray to Gray) is 0.03ms. GTG is one of the response time measurement standards, referring to the time taken to transition from gray to dark gray.

It is equipped with the 'Neo Quantum Processor Pro.' It includes an 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) Upscaling' feature that automatically adjusts screen brightness and contrast, making gameplay more vivid. It supports AMD FreeSync™ Premium Pro, reducing the 'tearing' phenomenon where the screen stutters due to communication issues during high-spec gaming. It has obtained certification from the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA), expressing black colors 100 times deeper compared to existing HDR standards.
With an ultra-slim metal and core lighting design, it enhances gaming immersion. It supports convenience features such as HDMI 2.1 to strengthen connectivity between devices. It includes 'Smart Hub' and 'Samsung Gaming Hub,' allowing users to enjoy cloud games or OTT (over-the-top) streaming services without connecting separate devices. Samsung Gaming Hub is a streaming game platform integration service with Xbox Game Pass, NVIDIA GeForce Now, and others.
Jung Hoon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business Division, said, "By launching the Odyssey OLED G9 series, we have expanded Samsung's OLED gaming monitor lineup," adding, "We will continue to lead the premium gaming monitor market by introducing high-performance products based on our proprietary image quality technology."
Pre-orders for the new product will begin on the 26th, with the official release on the 3rd of next month. The retail price is 2.7 million KRW.
