The Korea Communications Commission (KCC) announced on the 12th that, together with the National Information Society Agency (NIA), it held a "Digital Ethics Family Camp" for one night and two days from the 10th to the 11th at the National Busan Science Museum. The event was jointly conducted with the National Busan Science Museum under the theme "The Encounter of Science and Technology and Digital Ethics in Daily Life" to cultivate awareness of digital ethics.
More than 100 families participating in the event attended digital ethics education led by professional instructors. Parents and children formed teams to answer a Golden Bell quiz related to digital ethics. The family with the highest score was selected as the Digital Ethics Quiz Champion and awarded a prize.
In particular, this education newly added programs to cultivate digital ethics awareness that families can practice together, such as the proper way of share-parenting, which involves sharing children's daily lives on social networking services (SNS), and how to use parental control functions for healthy media use. In addition, various programs for the whole family were operated, including visiting the Digital Ethics Experience Center, observing constellations at the planetarium and observatory, and making keychains.
Kim Hyo-jae, Acting Chairperson of the KCC, stated, "For cultivating awareness of digital ethics, the interest and participation of families and those around them are important," and added, "We will further subdivide education by target groups such as families, youth, and adults, and promote various policies and projects that help enhance actual digital citizenship."
