KCC and Paju-si Open 'Heyri Youth Creative Space Kkumsoop'

KCC and Paju-si Open 'Heyri Youth Creative Space Kkumsoop' At the opening ceremony of Heyri Youth Creative Space Kkumsoop, attendees are cutting the ribbon.

On the 12th, KCC announced that it will create a dedicated youth culture and arts space in Heyri in collaboration with Paju City and the Paju Youth Foundation to support youth.

KCC recently held an opening ceremony for the 'Heyri Youth Creative Space Kkumsoop' with Paju City. Key figures attending the ceremony included Son Bae-chan, CEO of the Paju Youth Foundation; Park Gwan-seon, Chairman of Heyri; Yoon Hu-duk, Member of the National Assembly; and Kim Sang-jun, Executive Director of KCC. The event featured various cultural activities such as the Heyri Youth Environmental Village Festival in celebration of Environment Month in June, environmental booth experiences, and youth busking performances.

The newly opened 'Heyri Youth Creative Space Kkumsoop' is funded by KCC’s sponsorship of remodeling costs, while the Paju Youth Foundation is responsible for project management and facility operation. The space offers local youth and residents an environmental experience area using KCC’s eco-friendly paint, as well as opportunities for cultural experiences through various youth club activities. Additionally, plans include youth talent development through fair trade activities and cultural and artistic activities linked with the Heyri Art Village.

In 2022, KCC donated 100 million KRW to Paju City’s 'Youth Culture and Arts Space Creation and Village Regeneration Project Utilizing Idle Spaces.' This year, KCC contributed 50 million KRW to the Paju Youth Foundation for youth projects. Last year, KCC also carried out a community regeneration mural painting project using its eco-friendly water-based paint 'Sopro' to revitalize aging villages near Paju.

A KCC representative stated, "The newly established 'Kkumsoop' is a youth culture and arts space created through public-private cooperation, and we hope it will serve as a good example of practicing future values by growing together with youth." They added, "Under KCC’s social contribution catchphrase, ‘Creating a Better World Together,’ we plan to actively expand community regeneration social contribution projects to breathe new life into local communities."
