Myeongseong SK EarthOn President Also Joins In
SK Innovation announced on the 11th that it has resumed the face-to-face volunteer activity “Happiness Sharing Love Connection,” which serves as a social family for elderly people living alone, for the first time in three years since COVID-19. Happiness Sharing Love Connection is SK Innovation’s volunteer program that has been operating since 2016.
The first round of volunteer activities was held 18 times in total from the 16th of last month to the 7th of this month. A total of 748 members from SK Innovation and its affiliates participated along with nine local welfare institutions, including the Dongdaemun Senior Welfare Center in Seoul, Daejeon Metropolitan City Senior Welfare Center, Seosan Senior Welfare Center in Chungnam, and the Sampo Social Welfare Center in Jeungpyeong. The members visited the homes of about 300 elderly people living alone.
Myungseong, President of SK Earth On, a subsidiary of SK Innovation’s oil development business, and members also visited the homes of elderly people living alone on the 26th of last month to repair window screens and clean the houses. President Myungseong and the members delivered sponsorship items to the elderly living alone.

With the lifting of social distancing measures, SK Innovation plans to conduct the Happiness Sharing Love Connection four times this year, aligned with seasonal themes. More than 2,000 members from SK Innovation and eight subsidiaries plan to continue volunteer activities with themes such as checking cooling equipment during the heatwave in July, visiting traditional markets in September, and inspecting heating equipment during the cold wave in November.
The members participating in the volunteer activities not only serve as companions for the elderly living alone but also engage in activities to support their independence. These include guidance on how to use digital devices such as kiosks and self-checkout counters, information on distribution and consumption expiration systems, and instructions on waste separation. Sponsorship items for the elderly living alone are also delivered during each volunteer visit.
Myungseong, President of SK Earth On, said, “We expect that the resumption of ‘Happiness Sharing Love Connection’ after three years will revitalize volunteer activities within SK Innovation affiliates. Moving forward, we will join efforts with our members to enhance the welfare of vulnerable groups.”
