Dobong-gu to Operate ‘Dobong-type 4th Industrial Revolution Future School’ from June 12, 2023
Six Schools Including Seondeok High School and Changil Middle School, 1,015 Students Participating
Experiencing Various 4th Industrial Revolution Technologies Such as Metaverse, Autonomous Driving, AI, and 3D Printing with Carbon Neutrality as the Theme
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) will operate the ‘Dobong-type 4th Industrial Revolution Future School’ targeting middle schools in the region starting June 12.
The ‘Dobong-type 4th Industrial Revolution Future School’ is a school support project jointly operated by Dobong-gu and specialized educational institutions to nurture creative talents who lead the trends of the era through various future competency education and career experience.
Last year, six middle schools participated focusing on basic technology experiences in the 4th industrial revolution field, achieving a satisfaction rate of over 85% among participants.
This year, based on last year’s operation results and demand surveys, a total of six schools?Seondeok Middle School, Changil Middle School, Baegun Middle School, Sindobong Middle School, Changdong Middle School, and Dobong Middle School?and 1,015 students will participate in a project solving real-life problems using core 4th industrial revolution technologies such as ▲Metaverse ▲Autonomous Driving ▲AI ▲3D Printing, with ‘carbon neutrality’ as the major theme to respond to the climate crisis.
A school official stated, “With the implementation of the free semester system and free year system, the demand for experiential activities and career exploration has increased. In particular, the ‘4th Industrial Revolution Future School’ is operated by actively reflecting the opinions of the school field, so the educational satisfaction is high,” and added, “We hope the district will continue to expand support for various 4th industrial revolution-related education.”
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “Dobong-gu is passionate about utilizing future technologies, having established the nation’s first cloud platform-based air environment safety network and using AI recycling sorting robots,” and added, “We expect that through the ‘4th Industrial Revolution Future School,’ students in the district will grow into talents who lead the future.”
