Silla University Department of Dental Hygiene Wins Award at Oral Health Day UCC Contest

The Department of Dental Hygiene at Silla University won the Gold Prize and Encouragement Award at the ‘2023 Oral Health Day Commemorative UCC Contest’.


At the ‘2023 Oral Health Day Commemorative UCC Contest’ hosted by the Busan Branch of the Korean Dental Hygienists Association, student teams from Silla University’s Department of Dental Hygiene?Kim Young-ah, Kim Seon-jae, Kim Su-yeon, Jin Yeon-ju, and another team of Lee Jeong-beom, Park Hong-ryeol, Lee Cho-won?participated and received the Gold Prize and Encouragement Award respectively.


Both teams produced videos on the theme of ‘Oral Health Care for 5th to 6th Grade Elementary School Students,’ and the introduction included a message wishing for the success of the ‘2030 Busan World Expo (EXPO).’


The winning entries of this contest will be screened at the ‘56th Busan City Best Healthy Teeth Children Selection Contest’ and the ‘2023 Oral Health Day Commemoration Ceremony.’

Silla University Department of Dental Hygiene Wins Award at Oral Health Day UCC Contest Students from the Department of Food and Nutrition at Silla University, who won the Gold Prize and Encouragement Award in the UCC Contest, are taking a group commemorative photo.

The student team of Kim Young-ah, Kim Seon-jae, Kim Su-yeon, and Jin Yeon-ju, who won the Gold Prize, said, “We are happy and proud that our video was recognized as a useful resource to teach elementary students the correct tooth brushing methods,” adding, “It was a very valuable time to experience a new field of producing UCC videos related to oral health.”


The team of Lee Jeong-beom, Lee Cho-won, and Park Hong-ryeol, who received the Encouragement Award, said, “We are glad to have contributed even a little to improving elementary students’ oral health, and we are happy that the UCC video we worked on with joy won the Encouragement Award,” and added, “Although planning, filming, and editing the video was challenging, it was a fun and valuable experience.”


Jang Kyung-ae, head of the Department of Dental Hygiene at Silla University, said, “We are truly pleased that both Silla University teams won awards among many competitive entries in the UCC contest. It seems that the natural delivery of information embedded in unique storytelling and skits led to their success.”


The department also awarded the participating students with the Jaeja Sarang Scholarship and electric toothbrushes sponsored by Bukbu eDental.
