Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, Encourages Participants at the ‘7th Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor’s Cup Park Golf Tournament’ Held on the Morning of the 9th at Yangpyeong Nuri Sports Park Park Golf Course

Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, attended the ‘7th Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor’s Cup Park Golf Tournament’ held on the morning of the 9th at Yangpyeong Nuri Sports Park Park Golf Course and encouraged the players.

Park golf is a sport enjoyed in parks. Although its rules are similar to those of official golf, it uses only one wooden club, which reduces the pressure of long drives, and it can be enjoyed with low cost and time, making it popular among seniors along with gateball.

The tournament, hosted by the Yeongdeungpo-gu Park Golf Association, was attended by about 300 people including players, referees, and staff. Mayor Choi presented certificates of commendation to contributors to community sports and had an open and sincere communication session with club members.

Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, “I send my wholehearted encouragement and applause to the tournament officials and players who have worked hard for the development of community sports,” adding, “We will continue to make efforts to revitalize community sports through infrastructure development and support for clubs.”
