Creamy and Tamsongi Mushroom Sales
Lotte Mart announced on the 11th that it will sell Creamy Be mushrooms and Tamsongi Be mushrooms as part of the 'K-Variety Project.'
These products have a softer texture and less characteristic mushroom aroma compared to regular mushrooms. Creamy Be mushrooms have a bright white cream color and have been commercialized and cultivated for two years at a farm located in Jincheon-gun, Chungbuk. They have a soft texture and mild mushroom aroma, making them well suited for steak or stir-fry dishes.
Tamsongi Be mushrooms are products developed over six years through crossbreeding between Awibe mushrooms and Oyster mushrooms at an agricultural company located in Cheonan, Chungnam. They have a tender and soft texture, suitable for blanching dishes, and when chilled after blanching and served with chojang (spicy dipping sauce), they offer a chewy texture similar to sashimi.
The product planner (MD) of the vegetable team at Lotte Mart traveled around mushroom-producing areas in Jincheon, Cheonan, and Gimcheon for three months to introduce high-quality exotic mushrooms. Afterwards, an internal tasting session was held, conducting various tests on taste, texture, aroma, and other factors, proving the excellent commercial value of the two mushrooms.
A Lotte Mart official said, "Besides the mushrooms that have been steadily selling, there is a need for new exotic mushrooms that can satisfy consumers' diverse tastes," adding, "We expect that Creamy and Tamsongi Be mushrooms will allow customers to experience the luxurious taste of exotic mushrooms."
