NongHyup Central Association, Third Operation This Year
On the 9th, the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (NongHyup) operated the 'Farmer Happiness Bus' at the conference room of Sanyang NongHyup in Tongyeong, Gyeongnam, together with Sanyang NongHyup. The event, attended by about 250 local farmers, was the third event held this year.
The event was attended by Lee Seong-hee, Chairman of NongHyup; Cheon Young-gi, Mayor of Tongyeong; Kim Ju-yang, Head of Gyeongnam NongHyup Headquarters; and Choi Yong-ju, Chairman of Sanyang NongHyup, who greeted and encouraged the farmers receiving medical treatment.
The Farmer Happiness Bus project is a comprehensive welfare service jointly promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and NongHyup since 2013 to reduce welfare gaps between urban and rural areas. It visits rural areas lacking medical and welfare facilities to provide a package of services including medical support, longevity photo shoots, eye examinations, and magnifier support.

Supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and NongHyup, medical staff from Changwon Himchan Hospital attended this event to provide Western medical treatment. Various programs such as longevity photo shoots, eye examinations and magnifier support, free agricultural machinery inspections, and free vehicle inspections for farmers were conducted.
The Gyeongnam NongHyup Mutual Finance Marketing Support Team provided financial service education to farmers on digital finance and prevention of financial fraud, explaining convenient non-face-to-face financial services for farmers and recent increases in voice phishing cases and prevention methods.
Mayor Cheon said, “I thank the medical staff who provided medical services for elderly farmers who have devoted themselves to the development of agriculture and rural areas, and NongHyup for their efforts to ensure farmers receive quality services through various rural welfare projects. We will do our best to strengthen the competitiveness of our agriculture and rural areas and support the practical benefits of farmers.”
Chairman Lee said, “We will do our best to support the practical benefits of farmers so that they can live healthy and happy lives. NongHyup will continue to expand customized rural welfare projects to revitalize rural areas and promote sustainable agriculture and rural communities.”
Chairman Choi said, “Members tired from farming are satisfied with the various services. We will continue to actively work to improve the health and welfare of our members.”
