Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced that the first nationwide Cadastral Survey Competition, hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, will be held from the 8th to the 9th at Bugok Oncheon area in Changnyeong-gun.
About 200 participants, including public officials and employees of the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation representing cities and provinces nationwide, will take part in the nationwide Cadastral Survey Competition. The competition tests professional surveying skills such as the appropriateness of cadastral survey inspections using the latest surveying equipment, and the speed and accuracy of determining survey results.

Current cadastral survey data is utilized by digitizing paper maps created in the 1910s, making it difficult to provide accurate survey results to civil petitioners. Therefore, enhancing the capabilities of public officials and survey performers is considered important to resolve increasing civil complaints such as boundary disputes.
An official from the county stated, “Since the first nationwide Cadastral Survey Competition is being held in the Bugok Oncheon area, we will cooperate with Gyeongnam Province and do our best to ensure the event proceeds smoothly.”
