Central University Gwangmyeong Hospital announced on the 9th that it held its first anniversary ceremony. Opened last year in Iljik-dong, Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi Province, the hospital is evaluated as a regional base university hospital responsible for emergency and severe disease treatment not only in Gwangmyeong but also in nearby areas such as Guro-gu and Geumcheon-gu in Seoul and the southwestern region of Gyeonggi Province within just one year.
Based on advanced medical facilities and top-level medical staff, Central University Gwangmyeong Hospital surpassed 1,000 outpatients per day within 50 days of opening and reached 2,000 patients in May this year. The proportion of specialized treatment disease groups exceeded 53%, and the number of surgeries approached 10,000 cases, fulfilling its primary role as a specialized hospital for severe treatment. Additionally, it has established a cooperative system for mutual development with local clinics and hospitals, forming a medical delivery network with 2,562 medical institutions nationwide. It also passed the 4th cycle medical institution accreditation evaluation within one year of opening, gaining recognition through objective indicators.
Basic research and clinical activities are also actively underway. Last year, the hospital was designated as a 'Pharmaceutical Clinical Trial Institution' for new drug development, an 'Advanced Regenerative Medicine Institution' capable of treating rare, intractable, and chronic diseases, and a 'Medical Device Clinical Trial Institution' for evaluating the safety and efficacy of medical devices applied to the human body, demonstrating clinical capabilities across all fields of the medical industry. The Smart Clinical Trial Center is expanding its scope nationwide by leveraging advanced facilities, equipment, professional personnel, and the geographical advantage of being near KTX Gwangmyeong Station.

Growth into a smart hospital through innovative work processes is also progressing smoothly. Last month, it earned the distinction of being the first medical institution in the Asia-Pacific region to receive an international award related to RPA. RPA refers to technology that automates simple repetitive tasks using robotic software. This achievement is significant as it efficiently applied RPA, which had previously been approached on a pilot basis in domestic medical institutions, in a short period of time. Furthermore, it has attracted attention for introducing OKR-based performance management, which is unusual for a general hospital-level medical institution.
Hospital Director Lee Cheol-hee said, "The achievements of the past year are the result of the united hearts and efforts of all faculty and staff," adding, "The strength and potential shown by Central University Gwangmyeong Hospital so far lie in the passionate staff who do their best in their respective positions."
