Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jong-sik) announced on the 9th that it will implement the ‘119 Emergency Bell Installation Project’ targeting 982 public and private elementary, middle, and high schools in the Gyeongbuk region this year.
This 119 Emergency Bell Installation Project is part of a ‘dense safety net policy’ aimed at faster response in emergencies such as fires or earthquakes within schools, as well as cardiovascular disease occurrences among duty workers working alone at night.
The Gyeongbuk Office of Education plans to install 119 emergency bells in all schools by the first half of 2023, investing 860 million KRW.
The 119 Emergency Bell Support Project is being carried out in collaboration with the Gyeongbuk Fire Headquarters Situation Room to enable quick response and reporting of cardiovascular diseases among duty workers working alone at night.
When the 119 emergency bell is activated, the duty worker’s medical history and family contact information within the school are sent to the situation room, enabling rapid emergency response. At the same time, 119 alert messages are sent to the contact numbers of designated school members, allowing for quick and effective handling of emergencies.
Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Office of Education, said, “The Gyeongbuk Office of Education values not only the safety of students but also the lives and health of all educational family members who work hard for the educational field,” and added, “We will continue to discover and implement various safety projects for the safety of students and staff.”
