National Police Agency Purchases Audio Security Recording Blockers... Proactive Response to 'US Presidential Office Eavesdropping' and More

On the 8th, the National Police Agency posted a bid announcement on the National Comprehensive Electronic Procurement System (Nara Market) to purchase nine voice security recording prevention devices. A total budget of approximately 47 million won has been allocated for the purchase of these eavesdropping and recording blocking devices.

The voice security recording prevention device disrupts eavesdropping and recording attempts by emitting ultrasonic waves inaudible to humans, causing only noise to be recorded.

A National Police Agency official explained the purpose, saying, "Due to recent incidents such as the U.S. intelligence agency's eavesdropping on the Yongsan Presidential Office, we intend to proactively strengthen security."

Meanwhile, shortly after the Itaewon tragedy, there was controversy when remarks made by executives during a meeting of the Public Safety Information Bureau at the National Police Agency were fully reported by the media.
