Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok Inspects Projects in Yeongjong and Yongyu Areas Including Hansang Dream Island and Inspire

Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok visited large-scale project sites in the Yeongjong and Yongyu areas and urged for accelerated project implementation.

On the 8th, Mayor Yoo inspected the progress at major project sites including Hansang Dream Island, Midan City, Inspire Complex Resort, and Oseong Park.

Hansang Dream Island is a project to develop sports facilities (golf course), amusement parks, and accommodation facilities on the dredged soil disposal site in Jungsan-dong, Jung-gu. Currently, the site development work is 98.4% complete, and after the completion procedures in July, the golf course is scheduled to open in the first half of 2025.

Also, the Midan City international school site is actively progressing with the establishment of foreign educational institutions for kindergarten, elementary, and secondary education. The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority recently held a pre-briefing session for the establishment and operation corporation recruitment.

After the recruitment process this month, the project proposals will be evaluated by the end of September, and a preferred negotiation partner is planned to be selected around October. The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority is promoting development directions and changes to land use and district unit plans to encourage active participation from globally renowned nonprofit school corporations.

Mayor Yoo also visited the site office of the Inspire Complex Resort, which is scheduled for its first phase opening this year, to encourage the stakeholders.

The Inspire Complex Resort is a project investing a total of 3.1 trillion KRW to develop tourism and leisure facilities including 1,275 hotel rooms, Korea’s first large-scale arena with 15,000 seats, and a foreigner-only casino.

Mayor Yoo also visited the Oseong Park site, where discussions between Incheon City and Incheon International Airport Corporation are rapidly progressing, urging for swift project advancement.

Oseong Park is a project promoted by Incheon International Airport Corporation. Following last year’s tourism resource concept and idea contest, a residents’ briefing session was held in March this year.

Mayor Yoo requested, "Please ensure that the ongoing projects are properly and timely implemented so that Yeongjong International City and the Yongyu area can become hubs of tourism and leisure in Korea."
