The 11th Yeongdeok Daegae Cup National Youth Soccer Tournament Successfully Concluded

The 11th Yeongdeok Snow Crab Cup National Youth Soccer Tournament held in Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk, was successfully concluded on the 6th.

Started in 2013, the Yeongdeok Snow Crab Cup National Youth Soccer Tournament had a brief pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic but has been held normally since last year, revitalizing the local community.

This tournament, held at Changpo Sunrise Soccer Field and Ganggu Snow Crab Soccer Field, featured a total of 54 teams: 15 teams in the U-12 category, 15 teams in the U-11 category, and 24 teams in the U-10 category. Over four days, preliminary league matches were held by category, and the final winner was decided through the main tournament on the 6th.

As a result, in the U-12 category, corresponding to 6th grade elementary school students, JFC won first place, Jincheon FC was runner-up, and Pohang Dream and FS Osan took third place respectively. In the U-11 category, the champion was Suwon PEC, runner-up Yangju Top Class, and third place went to Yeongcheon Youth and Cheonan IJ ONE. In the U-10 category, Pohang Steelers won first place, Yeoju SD was runner-up, and Ulsan It's and Sejong Real achieved third place with good results.

The Yeongdeok Snow Crab Cup National Youth Soccer Tournament has established itself as the best youth soccer tournament by building an organic cooperative system with related organizations such as organizers and sponsors based on extensive experience in tournament management, and by developing detailed plans centered on players and their families to strengthen the tournament’s substance.

Additionally, Yeongdeok-gun is actively promoting the resumption of various sports events, including the ‘STAY Yeongdeok National Soccer Tournament’ held earlier this year, to revitalize the sports community that had been suppressed for a long time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, thereby fostering the revival of local sports and stimulating the regional economy.

County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol stated, “We will do our best to successfully host nationwide sports events during the summer season, including the 2023 Yeongdeok Snow Crab Cup National Amateur Soccer Tournament held over two days on the 10th and 11th of this month, the 19th Yeongdeok Beach National Marathon on the 1st of next month, and the 2023 Yeongdeok Specialized Football Trip on the 15th of the same month, so that Yeongdeok-gun can systematize a successful model combining sports and tourism.”
