Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Seogwipo Fire Station (Chief Park Gwang-chan) and the Seogwipo Fire Station Volunteer Fire Brigade Association (President Kang Young-chul) announced on the 8th that they conducted a summer water safety accident prevention campaign around Soesokkak on the 6th.
This campaign was carried out with the purpose of reducing casualties caused by water play accidents as summer approaches and to have a safe and enjoyable summer. It included coastal natural cleanup activities and safety rule guidance for tourists and residents visiting Soesokkak to prevent water play safety accidents.

President Kang Young-chul of the association said, “We conducted the campaign because we wanted to contribute even a little to the safety of the residents,” and added, “We will continue to strive to protect the safety of residents and create a better living community in Jeju.”
Park Gwang-chan, Chief of Seogwipo Fire Station, said, “The fire department is doing its best to minimize damage from water play safety accidents, but raising voluntary safety awareness is most important,” and urged, “Please all follow safety rules to have a safe summer.”
Meanwhile, Seogwipo Fire Station is operating the 119 Citizen Water Rescue Team for two months starting next month to prepare for water play safety accidents and is working to make Seogwipo safe.
