70-Year-Old Who Chased Away 3 American Robbers... Turns Out to Be a Former Korean Marine

70s Man Strikes Back Immediately After Robbers Attack
"Robbers Probably Didn't Expect Any Retaliation"

In California, USA, three men attempted to rob a Korean man in his 70s but ended up fleeing from the victim. The man is reported to be a former soldier of the Republic of Korea Marine Corps.

According to the New York Post and other sources on the 6th (local time), on the 4th, 75-year-old Mr. A, a former member of the Korean Marine Corps, fought off the robbers who broke into his home and forced them to flee.

Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage installed in Mr. A's garage shows that as he arrived home and was about to close the car's rear door, two men suddenly approached and sprayed pepper spray in his face. Startled, Mr. A stepped back but then actively threw punches at the robbers.

Surprised by the unexpected counterattack, the robbers immediately ran away. Another member of the group was reportedly waiting nearby in a car to assist their escape. Meanwhile, neighbors who heard Mr. A's screams rushed to help him. Mr. A only returned to his home after driving them away.

Mr. A's son told local media, "My father fought back vigorously, and the robbers seemed caught off guard because they did not expect an elderly victim to fight back." He added, "The robbers sprayed pepper spray on my father, but since he was wearing glasses, there was a chance for him to counterattack even a little."

He also expressed gratitude to the neighborhood residents. "My father was screaming and fighting back, and the residents helped chase the robbers away," he said.

The family declined to disclose Mr. A's identity, but local media introduced him as a "veteran soldier" who previously served in the Korean Marine Corps.

Meanwhile, local police are investigating whether this incident is related to similar recent crimes. Recently, in Roland Heights, robbers sprayed pepper spray on an 80-year-old man and stole a watch worth $2,500 (about 3.28 million KRW) before fleeing.
