Since the 30th of last month and until the 19th of this month, Pukyong National University Library is holding the "Metaverse Electronic Information Expo" for three weeks through the library website.
This event is conducted online, where users enter the expo hall implemented on the metaverse platform ZEP, control their characters, visit various booths in the expo hall, and experience different ways to utilize electronic information resources.
The Pukyong National University Library expects a significant increase in participants because, unlike previous offline methods, this expo can be attended anytime and anywhere, and participants are given prizes such as tablet computers, smartwatches, Bluetooth headsets, and library mileage points.
Additionally, from the 1st to the 9th of this month, the VR Experience Zone on the 3rd floor of the Central Library is hosting the "VR Sports Basketball Game Competition - WHO IS THE BEST?". This program, held to promote the use of the VR Experience Zone officially opened in April, awards a coffee gift certificate worth 50,000 KRW to the enrolled student who achieves the highest score in the VR content mission game.
In the multi-cultural exhibition space on the 1st floor of the Central Library, a book curation event is also being held until the 11th. Under the theme "The Greatest Intellectual Revolution Since Printing Technology: AI (CHAT GPT), Ask Anything," 70 types of books are exhibited, and participants who write book reviews, answer quizzes correctly, or complete satisfaction surveys receive coffee gift certificates and library mileage points.
Kim Cheolsu, director of the Pukyong National University Library, said, "We plan to continuously activate cultural programs so that the library can transform from a quiet place for studying and reading books into a space focused on activities and experiences. Through this, we expect students to visit the library more often, experience extensive reading, and enhance their intellectual capabilities."
