CJ Freshway Provides 'Monaka' to Welfare Facilities in Partnership with Taegukdang

Snack Sharing for Clients at Welfare Facilities Including Senior Welfare Centers

CJ Freshway announced on the 8th that it partnered with the bakery brand Taegukdang to provide 5,000 ice creams free of charge to meal service centers at welfare facilities nationwide.

The two companies presented Taegukdang’s signature product, ‘Monaka Ice Cream,’ to welfare facilities such as child welfare centers and senior welfare centers where CJ Freshway distributes meal ingredients. Considering the diverse age groups of meal service users at each facility, they selected a snack favored by all generations, from children to the elderly, as the gift.


Monaka Ice Cream has recently gained attention as a trendy snack among MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) consumers, following the rising popularity of ‘Halmaennial’ (Grandmother + Millennial) snacks, while also evoking nostalgia among middle-aged and older consumers.


The gifts were also delivered to various local government-led events and educational sites, including the Wonju Regional Child Center Association, the Jinju City Social Welfare Workers Summer Sports Festival, and the Incheon Western Senior Abuse Prevention Seminar. Based on CJ Freshway’s nationwide customer network, the initiative aims to share enjoyable dining experiences with a wider audience. In addition, CJ Freshway also provided health foods from the care food specialized brand ‘Healthy Nuri.’


A CJ Freshway representative said, “This event was planned to stimulate the appetites of meal service users during the summer and to provide enjoyable mealtime experiences,” adding, “We plan to continuously introduce unique food experiences to our meal ingredient clients in offices, industrial sites, hospitals, and welfare facilities through ongoing projects and collaborations with popular brands.”
