Uljin-gun Discusses National Budget Securing Measures with Congressman Park Hyung-su

'2024 National Budget Policy Consultation' Held

On the 5th, Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province held the '2024 National Budget Policy Consultation' chaired by Park Hyung-su, a member of the National Assembly from the People Power Party, at the county office's large conference room.

At the consultation, more than 30 participants including County Governor Son Byung-bok, National Assembly member Park Hyung-su, Provincial Assembly member Kim Won-seok, county council members, and heads of departments and divisions gathered to discuss and deliberate on regional issues and projects proposed for the 2024 national budget.


Regarding regional issues, they shared information on eight items including ▲the establishment of the Uljin Nuclear and Hydrogen National Industrial Complex ▲construction of the Yeongdeok?Samcheok highway ▲expansion and paving of National Road No. 36 to four lanes ▲emergency logging projects in large wildfire-affected areas ▲and the establishment of the Gyeongbuk 119 Special Fire Response Unit. For the 2024 national budget proposals, nine projects were discussed, including ▲the construction of a hydrogen production base based on water electrolysis ▲development of the East Coast National Trail ▲establishment of the National Mountain Ecology Center ▲creation of the National East-West Trail Center ▲and the establishment of the National East Coast Wildfire Prevention Center. They agreed to actively respond to securing national funds ahead of the budget review stages by each ministry.


County Governor Son Byung-bok stated, “In the face of the era's crisis of local extinction, our county must not miss this unparalleled opportunity for future advancement and must enhance its competitiveness. Let us maximize the synergy effect of cooperation with the National Assembly.”


National Assembly member Park Hyung-su responded, “Through strengthening the cooperation system between the party and the government, we will do our best to support Uljin-gun’s national projects with communicative policies to ensure the smooth promotion of key projects for regional development.”
