Jeonbuk Province: "We Will Make It a Leading Region for the Green Hydrogen Industry"

Strengthening International Cooperation for Green Hydrogen Industry Development and Utilization

Jeonbuk Province is joining forces to promote the "Green Hydrogen Industry Development and Utilization Project" in response to the global climate change crisis.


On the 7th, according to the province, at the Jeonbuk Provincial Office, Jeonbuk Governor Kim Kwan-young, Mohamed Rashed Musabbah Alremeithi, Chairman of AL FATTAN GROUP, Khaled Mohamed Rashed Musabah Alremeithi, Chairman of AL FATTAN LTechUVC Green Energy LLC, and Kim Se-ho and Lee Ji-young, co-CEOs of LTechUVC Co., Ltd., attended and signed an agreement to promote and utilize the green hydrogen industry.

Abdulla Saif Al Nuaimi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Korea, also attended the event, adding prestige to the occasion. AL FATTAN GROUP is a quasi-governmental enterprise established with support from the UAE government.


It operates on behalf of the government in areas such as warships, oil and gas facilities, and marine and land construction sectors. Its subsidiary, AL FATTAN ENERGY, is a specialized engineering company in nuclear power, oil, gas, and renewable energy in the Middle East and North Africa region.


On March 17, AL FATTAN GROUP, through its subsidiary AL FATTAN ENERGY, jointly established a special purpose company (SPC), AL FATTAN LTechUVC Green Energy, with LTechUVC Co., Ltd. to produce green hydrogen and green ammonia. This entity is currently promoting a 200-megawatt (MW) green hydrogen and green ammonia manufacturing project in the United Arab Emirates.


Through this agreement, the province aims to form a strategic partnership among the parties involved. It plans to communicate and collaborate closely with the UAE to foster industrial development through the production and utilization of green hydrogen on both sides.


Governor Kim stated, “The UAE is the first country in the Middle East and Africa to announce a hydrogen industry roadmap and is a leading hydrogen industry nation nurturing hydrogen energy, a next-generation growth industry, on a large scale. We will develop Saemangeum New Port into a hydrogen-specialized port as a leading region to achieve national and Jeonbuk economic development.”
