Smart logistics centers are logistics centers that incorporate advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and robots into logistics equipment and systems, certified by the government. Certified smart logistics centers can receive partial support for costs required for purchasing advanced equipment and constructing facilities (0.5~2%p of loan interest).
The centers certified this time are equipped with AI-based cargo automatic sorting equipment and warehouse management systems, automating the entire logistics process including cargo inbound, outbound, and storage.
In particular, the Incheon ICC2 Center will serve as a key hub by comprehensively providing cargo overseas customs clearance systems to handle international e-commerce cargo volumes.
Kang Ju-yeop, Director of Logistics Policy at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, “The smart logistics center certification system is a core project supporting our logistics companies, and the response from companies is very positive. We will actively support the logistics industry to grow as a future new growth engine.”
