Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that it will officially operate the ‘Yangcheon-gu New Moving-in Household Support Project’ from July, providing a lifestyle guidebook and daily necessities to households newly moved into the district to help them adapt quickly. This is the first such initiative among Seoul’s autonomous districts.

The ‘Yangcheon-gu New Moving-in Household Support Project’ was established to provide congratulatory moving-in gifts to all households newly moved into Yangcheon-gu from other local governments, aiming to enhance residents’ sense of belonging and pride.

The support items consist of a guidebook containing district lifestyle information and daily necessities needed by households that have just completed their move. For daily necessities, recipients can choose one from a Taegukgi (Korean national flag) and a three-compartment recycling bin, a tool set, or a cooking utensil set.

In particular, the lifestyle guidebook comprehensively includes local maps and origins, as well as ▲district text alert services ▲procedures for various civil complaints such as welfare, taxes, and waste disposal ▲major local facilities and attractions ▲16 tourism courses in Yangcheon-gu, and distinctive district information by 18 neighborhoods and categories. This is expected to greatly help unfamiliar new moving-in households adapt quickly to Yangcheon-gu.

The support targets new out-of-district moving-in households; households moving within the district, merging, or joining existing households are excluded.

Item support will begin next month. Household heads or members must visit the local community service center within 3 months from the moving-in registration date to apply. After qualification verification, items will be provided within 7 days. For online moving-in registration via Government24, applicants will be guided to apply for items by phone upon processing.

Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “We are launching the new moving-in household support project, the first among Seoul’s autonomous districts, so that the first impression of Yangcheon for our new residents will remain a happy and pleasant memory.” He added, “We will continue to create ‘Yangcheon, a city where people want to live and live well,’ so that being a Yangcheon resident will be a source of pride and honor.”
