On the 5th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will expand the operation of 'Damyang-gun Minwon Talk' to proactively identify welfare blind spots.
Minwon Talk is a reporting channel (KakaoTalk channel) opened in March to handle residents' daily civil complaints, quickly processing various complaints and receiving great responses from the residents.
The county plans to use Minwon Talk to contribute to resolving welfare blind spots by promoting the subscription to 'Damyang-gun Minwon Talk' among about 1,300 local human safety network crisis household detection members, including village heads, local social security council members, honorary social welfare officers, and welfare task forces.
Members of the crisis detection team who subscribe to the channel can report neighbors in need anywhere through non-face-to-face means by discovering neighbors facing difficulties in the community via the one-on-one chat function.
In addition to reports from the crisis detection team, if individuals experiencing difficulties in daily life directly request counseling, they can receive guidance on customized counseling and support services.
County Governor Lee Byeong-no said, “We will actively identify welfare blind spots to create a dense local social welfare safety net,” and urged, “If you find neighbors in need of help around you, please actively use and report through the channel.”
