Seven people in their 20s who held a group drug party at a hotel were arrested by the police.
The Gwangju Western Police Station announced on the 5th that they have arrested and are investigating seven individuals, including A (21), on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
They are suspected of collectively using drugs seven times, including ecstasy, marijuana, and ketamine, at a hotel party room in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, on April 7.
According to the police investigation, A traded drugs through a highly secure SNS. The transaction method was found to be the 'drop-off method,' where the seller leaves the drugs at a designated location for the buyer to pick up.
All of them are men in their early 20s, including two social service agents, and are known to be acquaintances or classmates.
Earlier, while tracking the flow of drug distribution accounts, the police suspected group drug use when 1.7 million won was deposited into a front account used by the seller, and they traced the account backward to arrest them.
The police have applied for a pre-arrest warrant for A, known as the ringleader, and are investigating the detailed circumstances of the case.
